Most people don’t struggle with learning tools.
They struggle because they don’t yet understand how data fits into real roles, teams, or careers.

Secure My Seat

Session 1: Understanding How Data Actually Works

Objective: Help participants understand what 'working in data' actually looks like in real organizations; beyond tools & titles.

Key Takeaways:

  • Describe how data functions across teams (not just analytics roles)
  • Distinguish between tools & responsibilities
  • Identify where confusion about data careers usually starts
  • Recognize how data already shows up in their current or past work

Session 2: Where You Fit (& Where You Don't)

Objective: Help participants map their existing experience to realistic data-adjacent paths and rule out misaligned ones.

Key Takeaways:

  • Identify major data role families at a high level
  • Articulate how their current skills translate (or don't)
  • Narrow down which paths feel plausible vs aspirational
  • Stop comparing themselves to unrealistic career narratives

Session 3: Deciding What's Next

Objective: Help participants make an intentional decision about whether and how to move forward.

Key Takeaways:

  • Decide whether technical training is the right next step right now

  • Identify what to prioritize next (learning, exposure, pause, or redirection)
  • Avoid common missteps that waste time & energy
  • Move forward with clarity instead of pressure or guesswork

About the Facilitator

I’m a Senior Analytics / Data Engineering professional and the founder of Data Analytics, Simplified.

Alongside my corporate work, I’ve supported hundreds of professionals many from nontraditional backgrounds as they navigated analytics education, career transitions, and growth.

What I’ve seen consistently is that most people don’t struggle because they can’t learn tools they struggle because they don’t yet understand how data fits into their work or goals.

This experience exists to address that gap.

I still actively work in analytics and data engineering, which allows me to ground this experience in how data actually operates inside organizations today.

Investment & Capacity
